Preservative, Kathon CG is the product name of Rohm and Haas Company, also known as methylisothiazolinone, methylchloroisothiazolinone.
It is one of the most common allergens in Europe and the United States. Most are used in shampoos or products that are washed off after use, such as hand soaps. However, due to the short contact time of these products with the skin, the proportion of allergic reactions has been decreasing year by year [1].
It has inhibitory effects on Gram-negative and positive bacteria, molds and yeasts, and can be combined with various surfactants.
