PA refers to Protection Grade of UVA, a sunscreen standard formulated in Japan. Generally speaking, PA+ means that the time multiple of tanning can be delayed by 2-4 times; PA++ means that it can be delayed by 4-8 times; PA+++ means that it can be delayed by 8~ 16 times: PA++++ means that it can be delayed by more than 16 times.
