含有兩個羥基之有機化合物，和 Propylene Glycol 類似，但具更輕的質地。用於化妝品中作為結合水分，並幫助肌膚抓水，但小分子的醇因為揮發速度快，同時也更快從肌膚帶走水份，因此實際上抓水能力並不高，有時功用反而在於協助溶解污垢，幫助活性成份滲透。

有個小建議：能不能允許普通用戶輸入網站未知成分的信息，經過管理員審查後，加入到成分的數據庫中呢？因為有些成分數據庫裡查不到，如果像wiki一樣，普通用戶也可以補充信息，相信網站數據庫會很快完善的：)

看到有些朋友說有成分查不到，大家可以換完整的英文名試試，其實大多數成分都能查到的。如果不知道英文名可以用百度搜索，或者用翻譯軟件，縮寫一般搜不到。

意思是說1,4的毒性為1,3的15倍。 而這個網站說的是1,3型
丁二醇—四個碳(C)，兩個(OH)， 所以可以有1,2-丁二醇 / 1,3-丁二醇 / 1,4-丁二醇，三種。
化妝品用的是1,3-丁二醇。
1,4-丁二醇才是作為迷姦藥用的。

I understand it may be comedogenic to some, but not in all skin types, as everyone's skin chemistry is different & therefore will react differently for everyone! Makes sense, right!

I have an acne-prone skin and Butylene Glycol did not clog my pores. Why did I come up with that conclusion? There's this product from Acne.Org called Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% and of all the products that I have tried to heal my cystic acne, it is the only one that cleared me within 1 month. I checked cosDNA today and discovered that my acne treatment contains Butylene Glycol. SURPRISE! Never had any breakout for 1 year now.
Dan Kern, the founder of Acne.Org, did not include Butylene Glycol in his list of comedogenic ingredients to avoid because he knew that there's a low chance that it will cause acne. Ingredients rated 3 and higher in the comedogenic scale are the scariest and should be avoided at all cost.
